Relocating Lion Cove Yellows

We had to take a 150 gallon tank, and empty it of everything except the water and gravel. Not easy!! We spilled probably 2 to 3 gallons of water (or more) on the floor, making it very hard to walk without slipping. But, we successfully took 15 Lion Cove Yellows to the tank with all the others in the assistant principal’s office. Yay!!!!!!!! ;)

Acclimating The Yellows

We took three Yellows out of a tank and moved them into the other tank in the assistant principals room. In order for the new Yellows to get accustomed to their new water temperature, we had to acclimate them. Every five minutes for half an hour, we put a small amount of the tank water into the bucket where the Yellows were. After that, they were used to their new tank, and were put in.

Moving The Fish

We took the two different kinds of fish and moved them out of the tank they were in with the yellows. When we found another tank, each different species went in their own section. There’s a species from Madagascar (without spots) and one from Mexico (with spots). Later today, we will move some yellows out of their current tank and replace them with the pictured fish.
