     ECRC is proud to offer a compelling Action Pack in cooperation with expert hobbyists, researcher Dr. Rebecca Jordan of Rutgers University, and members of the American Cichlid Association. The full Action Pack combines support worksheets for African Cichlid aquarium building, background information pages for education on the plight of the Rift Lakes of Africa and a series of observational experiments with species with behaviors that never fail to incite curiosity. If you have ever thought about having a real world aquarium that features exotic species easily cared for, opens the mind to "what if" questions and involves doable animal husbandry, the Classroom Cichlids Action Pack is your answer.

     The fishes of Lake Malawi, Lake Tanganyika and Lake Victoria make for ideal education aquariums because the animals are easily cared for, readily available in the aquarium hobby, provide observers with pronounced behaviors and always turn the heads of the casual tank viewer because of their attractive coloring. Our recommended species are algae eaters, territorial and beautiful.
