Haul Away

     ECRC has designed the Action Pack Haul Away about sailing ships during the Age of Sail to support and compliment the Action Packs World Voyages and Shipwrecks and Pirates. Haul Away familiarizes participants with what it was like to set sail and spend time at sea. From hurricanes with three speed fans to checkers to crew hiring challenges, Haul Away puts the Age of Sail into context.

     Since the beginning, sailors have tried to better see the horizon atop their masts, or people like ourselves have sought to improve their worldview from a treetop, hilltop or homemade fortress. Haul Away plays upon this human curiosity to step into historical sailing and takes the participant into knowing how a ship "works," how and what needs to be packed, and the best way to deal with both the anticipation of a journey and the boring parts of being on it. Haul Away and away you go.
